Golden Raintree

Q: I have a golden raintree that has not bloomed. It is about 12 feet tall and the trunk circumference is 12 inches about 12 inches from the ground. I selected this tree because of the blooms and seed pods. It is pretty anyway but when will it bloom? I must be doing something wrong.
Thanks,
Theresa

A: Wow, that’s a pretty stout tree for being only 12 feet tall! Have you been feeding it pork rinds? Or are the roots confined to a small area? Usually, about the only thing a goldenrain tree (Koelruteria paniculata) needs is full sun and good drainage. Does yours get full sun?
