Lantanas

Q: Our nurseries and stores sell red and gold varieties of lantanas. I’m looking for one that is multicolored, but can’t find it. One nursery worker thought it was called ‘Confetti.’ Could you suggest other nurseries by mail that I might be able to find this plant? Thank you.

A: Few mail-order nurseries sell lantana and those that do don’t ship in summer. They ship in fall or spring. ‘Confetti’ isn’t the only multicolored lantana. One very nice heirloom type is called ‘Miss Huff.’ It’s quite cold-hardy and can get rather large with time. Its flowers are yellow, pink, and orange. You can find it at www.plantdelights.com or www.nichegardens.com.
