Sneak Peek From The Filming of The Help in Jackson, Mississippi
Mississippi is a buzz as filming for the movie "The Help" is underway. The film, based on the bestselling Kathryn Stockett book, is being shot in a number of MS locations. This week they're shooting in Jackson. From a Wapt.com story:
"The film, which is expected to be released in 2011, stars Emma Stone and Bryce Dallas Howard and is directed by Tate Taylor.
Filmmakers sent the Fondren area back in time Wednesday, with classic cars and actors dressed in period clothing, to film scenes at Brent's Drugs on Duling Avenue.
Some members of the production team grew up and Jackson and said they worked to shoot it in their hometown.
"We knew if we could convince them to bring the production here that we would make a fabulous film, and it's just been great," said Brunson Green, a member of the production team."
A number of Mississippi bloggers have posted images of the filming (or at least the incredible way that the streets in the Fondren area have been transformed to look like the 1960s).

My family was the original Fondrens from Choctow county and move to Cleveland Mississippi. My grandfather, Lester Banks Fondren was one of the original members of the famous Merigold Hunting Club. I was born and raised in Indianola Mississippi and would love to here more of what you are filming. My daughter Maury Morgan is an actress in LA and has a great southern accent and is a Fondren!

i just recently got married on 10/10/10 10:10am in bishopville s.c I had a drama free wedding!filled with southern charm. i live in denver,co MY wedding was held at Pearl Fryars garden wow wow! you just can’t beat the sourthern charm.my cake was done by carlonia’s cake what a great job once again the southern charm. MY FLORIST WAS BLOSSOMS AGAIN THE SOUTHERN CHARM DINNER AT OSCARS SOUTHERN CHARM! MY WHOLE WEDDING WAS DONE ONLINE OR OVER THE PHONE! you can’t beat the southern charm! I love the south!
