Name: The Green Seed
Hometown: Birmingham, AL

Sounds Like: Classic nineties hip-hop with a socially conscious message. Led by MC R-Tist (a.k.a. Randall Turner), the group spits rhymes that spread messages of positivity. Part of the Birmingham-based Communicating Vessels record label (home to artists like The Great Book of John, Preston Lovinggood, and The Grenadines), The Green Seed’s sound is entirely homegrown. Look out for Birmingham landmarks in its “Crack Kills” video filmed across town. The group is due to release its first album “Y’all Ready In Progress” this summer. These guys are about to blow up!
