Attention monogram lovers (and let’s face it, that’s just about every Southerner out there) North Carolina-based jewelry line Moon & Lola is setting up shop on Raleigh’s South Wilmington Street. Known for its bright initial necklaces, the company’s first ever brick and mortar store is part of a larger Raleigh revitalization movement that has seen an up-tick in restaurants and retailers opening their doors downtown.
“The store is located in a 100-year old building that was once a department store,” says owner, designer and Raleigh-native Kelly Shatat. “The blend of old and new makes for a beautiful storefront.”

Currently available in more than 451 boutiques nationwide, Moon & Lola, which was started by Kelly five-years ago in nearby Apex, North Carolina, offers a range of reasonably-priced accessories—from cotton pearl earrings to sleek charm bracelets. A flagship store will give the brand the opportunity to expand into new lifestyle-focused offerings. First up, a beauty line including, soaps, lotions, lip balm and powder.
The retail space will also provide a spot to showcase Moon & Lola’s signature item: acrylic monogram necklaces. Debuted last year, these statement pieces are super-feminine, available in twenty-three colors, and reasonably price (starting at only $58). Warning: You will want to buy one.
Moon & Lola is located at 208 South Wilmington St, Raleigh. (919) 306-2257. Follow them on Twitter @moonandlola or on Facebook.
