Dog Days of Summer

Staff photographer Art Meripol shot this image of the happy pooch in downtown Highlands, North Carolina, while shooting streetscapes of the mountain town. “I was waiting on the light to get just right when the truck pulled up next to me. I looked at the dog and he looked at me with a ‘Yo, dude’ look.” Art says. “Man, dog, truck—nothing better. And the dog was so casual, like he repeats the scene every day.”
