We know you love tailgating. You know we love tailgating (you’ve been following all of our coverage this season, right?) Now we’re bringing tips and traditions to television, with our tailgating specials to premiere tonight on Great American Country Television. “The Southern Living Playbook” airs tonight at 10 p.m. Eastern on GAC. It will focus on two landmarks of SEC football tailgating; The Grove at Ole Miss and The Quad at Alabama.
What to expect: our Test Kitchen Director, Rebecca Gordon, and GAC host, Nan Kelley, will share delicious recipes, high end décor, fashion trends and tailgating insights. Plus special guest appearances from legendary SEC coaches, their wives, diehard fans, and the most ardent tailgaters Dixie has to offer.
For a sneak peak of the episode and the complete list of air times (don’t worry, there are plenty of opportunities to watch), head over to gactv.com/tailgate. And if you want to get recipes for the school-themed dishes Rebecca and Nan create on TV, check out our Tailgate Playbook Menus.
You’re never too young to start tailgating. This little cheerleader was happy to talk about her team (Alabama, of course) with Southern Living Photographer Gary Glark.
Rebecca, a die-hard Alabama fan, and Nan, chat
with Terry Saban, reigning first lady of college football.
Popcorn with bacon? Can’t go wrong. Get the recipe here.
We love the excitement of fans. Because we’re fans too. (And we appreciate the dedication of people who go to great lengths to uphold traditions, like these pledges wearing their sport coats in 80 degree weather!)
Hotty Toddy! The Rebels always win the party.
Where else can you find a chandelier in a tailgating tent?
This nice gentleman at Ole Miss heard we were stopping by so he invited us over to enjoy beef wellington he had prepared for the occasion.
The Texas-Ole Miss game in Oxford was full of Longhorn fans, like these two that were caught celebrating in great style. (Nice hats.)
You never know what you’ll see at a Southern tailgate. Which is why we love it.
