The Hunting Season At Keswick Hall

Staff photographer Art Meripol captured this shot of Virginia Foxhounds at the start of their morning trek across Keswick Hall near Charlottesville. “There were about 35 foxhounds training under the guidance of the houndmaster of the Keswick Hunt Club. Art had gone to catch the beautiful golden sunrise over Keswick, but the overnight storms left a foggy, gray trace. “I love the mood and the sense of season the fog lends,” he says.

Magnificent.
Absolutely brings chills to me. Remembering Rita Mae Brown’s descriptions of the hunts in her books!
Love this photo. It captures a moment and tells a story
