You Could Win These Menu Cards and Place Cards!
If you haven’t noticed, we are big fans of fine stationery and pretty handwriting. So of course we believe in the gracious notion of matching place cards and a menu card written out in your best cursive (Yes, you can remember how to make a proper capital F!) We’ve partnered with one of our favorite stationery companies, Dallas’ Bell’Invito to give away a set of 10 matching menu and place cards that we featured in November’s Southern Made.
To win the set, tell us in the comments section below, what is no table setting complete without? The contest begins now and ends November 30. Click here for official rules.

The perfect table setting has something you know your guest loves. For instance, if your guest is from Mississippi and you know she misses it, try to find magnolias or even the leaves to use as decoration. If your guest has candles all around her house, you know she loves them. Place a couple of unscented candles on the table. Anything to make your guests feel more welcome, at home and know you gave extra thought is perfect.

The table isn’t complete without a napkin with fork on top to the left of the plate, knife edge on the right with the blade facing away from the dish and spoon to the right of that. With kids, just getting the silver near the plate is good enough.
Condiments! The more the merrier, whether sauce, chutney or relish! The southern table must have that little extra that complements the meal!
The table setting isn’t complete for me, personally, until special pieces my husband and I inherited are out – silver serving utensils, colored glass serving bowls, a wonderfully worn trivet, and depression glass goblets.
When it comes to table settings in general, I always look to the drinkware! The perfect goblet – right color, right size, right design – can make or break the completed look.
No table setting is complete without menu cards and place cards. I use them even when I am setting a simple table for my family. When each guest opens up the place card I have set in the table, they can read a special note of encouragement written especially for them. I absolutely love this set!
I love to treat each guest with a small bud vase with fresh fragrant flowers. Just a simple and personal touch that they can take with them.
Family and friends, laughter and conversation!
No table setting is complete without a dessert fork- life’s too sweet to leave it out!
