If there is a word that comes to mind when thinking about Charleston it’s “style.” The city’s quintessential flair for charm was in full display Saturday night during a preview party hosted for Charleston Fashion Week.

Held in March, CFW has become one of the best reputed fashion weeks in the industry. Known for helping launch up-and coming designers’ careers, it’s the place to get to know who to watch long before they hit NY runways.¬†Previous winners include Lindsay Carter, whose collection TROUBADOUR is now available at high-end boutiques nationwide; swimsuit design darling Marysia Dobrzanska Reeves; and Project Runway runner-up Carol Hannah Whitfield.

On Saturday, CFW hosted its first-ever preview party with the 21 designers who will be vying for the spot of Emerging Designer during the March shows. The party was hosted at a yet-to-open sultry lounge, Five Four Nine, on East Bay Street with Jim ‘N Nick’s on catering and plenty of fashion eye candy.
