My favorite time to be in the kitchen is dawn. I am the first person up in the house, and I start the day by feeding our pets, preparing the coffee, and tidying up any dishes left from late night munchies
A may not have a million dollar home, but from my kitchen sink I can see the sunrise – and the view is priceless.

Late afternoon was the favorite, when as making dinner preparations, first the children and later the grandchildren, would stop in and help and we would have fun with whatever was on the menu that night.

I love to be in the kitchen in the morning, whether it’s a quiet weekday rush, or a rare weekend brunch when my guy doesn’t have to work. It’s the sunniest place in the apartment.

8:30AM I’ve cooked breakfast for everyone, helped them to get off and have just fed the three pets. I sit down with my breakfast and plan my day while the cats purr contentedly in the background. Ah, peace!

A hot summer afternoon, a cold winter evening, any day when I’m not working! Mornings don’t apply until after that first sip of coffee and I can open both eyes at the same time. My son is getting old enough to “help” out in the kitchen and his favorite tools are my small tongs (chompers) and a mini whisk. That is my favorite time!

My favorite time of the day is on SATURDAY mid morning around 11am getting dessert ready and potato salad or a macaroni salad ready for our afternoon cookout here at the house.

My best time to be in the kitchen has to be Sunday morning when (the kids were young) I created a new Frittata recipe and surprised my kids and my late wife with my latest efforts. They were all good eaters and not much was left when we finished. Greatest of memories.

My favorite time is Sunday after church before my roommates get home. I always make brunch for myself, then I do all of my cooking for the week. It’s the best time to get creative and explore recipes without anyone around!

My favorite time of the day is being in the kitchen with my husband, fixing dinner after work and hearing about his day. That makes whatever the day has been like seem better!

We have a small house and when family comes to visit everyone gathers around the table for small talk and many great meals have been served there. I have fond memories of my mom sitting at the kitchen table watching me cook recipes that she taught me when I was younger. Over the years she let me handle more and more of the holiday cooking, and it was tough trying to match her skill! She is no longer able to sit and keep me company, but sometimes I believe that when I seriously get a recipe that she passed down to me right, it’s because her spirit is sitting at the kitchen table projecting encouragement, confidence and motherly approval from across the room.
