My favorite time to be in the kitchen is when I’m home alone, then I can put the TV loud or radio, cook whatever and however I want!! No “suggestions” from the peanut gallery on my choices!! Haha

The morning when the world is just waking up. I love to be in the kitchen and be able to look out into the garden and see all the birds. The morning sunrise makes the house beautiful and everything is calm. Baking breakfast with a hot cup of coffee in your hand while the world has not begun its hustle is a special moment. It’s just you and the morning.

My best time is the morning, I am an early girl and we live on a lake. I sit with my cup ofcoffee and watch all the snow geese and the birds that are waiting for the bread I put out for them.

My favorite time of day to be in the kitchen is in the morning especially in the fall. Our kitchen is on the east side of the house so the sun is coming up and you can see all the beautiful colors on the Bradford pear trees we have lining our driveway. In Southwest Louisiana, we don’t get much color in the fall so when those trees change it is as if they are glowing. Also, in the morning my boys like to talk about what they’ve learned and read books while they eat breakfast so it’s fun to hear them being excited about new things.

My favorite time to be in the kitchen is early morning. The house is peaceful except for my cat purring to get out. My husband had already gone for his coffee break at the corner resturant. I can make my coffee and my breakfast to injoy in front of the news, before I start my day..

Pretty much all day on my days off. My husband is disabled so we don’t get out much and stay home. I love to cook, always have and it’s relaxing and satisfying to create something the family will enjoy (and co-workers if there’s any left). Last night was Spanish Stew, a recipe I first enjoyed at my Aunt Liz’s many years ago and it brings back great memories of those no longer with us.

Unbelievably, after much thought, it is late at night. When every one is upstairs asleep. I prepare my families lunches. Doing this simple something shows how much I care every day. It brings me a quiet joy and that in turn inspires me to leave loving notes and thoughts for them to boost them through their day.

3:40pm is my favorite time of the day in the kitchen. Its when my kids come home from school. They run in the door, sniffing the air and ask what’s cooking? It always makes me laugh.

Sunday mornings are always the best. I’ve got a pot of coffee brewing – I’m all alone downstairs and the house is quiet, but I know when I start frying up some bacon that everyone upstairs will start to stir when they smell it. By the time the muffins come out of the oven, all those delicious morning smells make for happy faces and hungry tummies when they finally come downstairs.

My favorite time is early morning….when I can bake a quiche, coffee cake or muffins and the aroma fills the air. As the four generations wake up and come to the kitchen, there is a sense of anticipation. Our household includes my 88 year old mother down to 4 year old triplets. The triplets love muffins because they are easy to pack in a ziploc bag and they can take them in the van and enjoy them on the way to pre-school or mom can enjoy a treat in the afternoon with her cup of tea.

My favorite time of day in the kitchen is in the morning when the kitchen is brewing and breakfast is being prepared. It’s a reminder that a new day of possibilities is ready to begin.

I love being in my kitchen on the weekends…when I actually have the time to cook and prepared dishes that are too lengthy for the weeknight meals. I bake, hum, braise, broast and assemble the most delicious dishes on my leisurely weekends.

My favorite time to be in the kitchen is actually after work on weekdays. At the end of a long day, it’s nice to come home and end the day doing something I really enjoy.

My favorite time to be in the kitchen is evening because that is the only meal I “cook”. I enjoy cooking for my husband and myself. It’s very relaxing and I love to see (and taste) the end product once it’s finished!

My favorite time in the kitchen is Thanksgiving. I really enjoy cooking for my family because it is one of the few times that we are able to be together. It is a time for me to show them how much I care about them and I want them to remember good times as we eat recipes from each family member.

I would say around 8pm. I know it’s late, but that’s when I am home from work and the gym, and iI come home to my BF starting to cook dinner. The smells are usually intoxicating as I saunter into the kitchen, pour a glass of wine (yup after a workout) and begin to help out. We love cooking together and the best part – is creating a meal we both love and enjoying every last bite!!

My favorite time in the kitchen is any holiday. It’s so much fun having the children and grandchildren gathered around in the kitchen. Even though time is ticking away, no one has to look at the clock to be somewhere other than in the kitchen with their relatives. It’s a time honored memory.

My favorite time is when I just get up. The house is so nice and quiet, and I start making the coffee. April, my cat, comes in and wants some ‘loving’ so I get to pick her up and hold her (only time is allows, and actually asks for it)for about 1-2 minutes. The quiet time, alone with the cat, coffee is brewing… best part of the day..

My favorite time to be in my kitchen is not necessarily a time of day or day of the week but moreso anytime I’m making something from scratch. It might be early on a Saturday morning or late at night on a weeknight but it doesn’t matter as long as I’m making something that doesn’t require box mixes! It reminds me of my childhood when I practically lived at my great-grandmother’s house and watched her make her “famous” chocolate cake. And it wasn’t “her” chocolate cake without her home-rendered lard 🙂 This past week, somewhat on a whim, I decided to make my own butter (and therefore, also got fresh buttermilk). I then used my homemade butter and buttermilk to make two loaves of banana nut bread that my husband devoured over the course of the weekend. Those are my favorite “times” in the kitchen – when I’m not worried about what the clock says because I’m making something fresh for others (and myself!) to enjoy! I feel as though I’m carrying on a very important tradition.

My favorite time to be in the kitchen is when I am making and decorating cookies for my family and friends. I enjoy giving them something I have used my creativity to create as well as something tasty for them to savor.

Early in the morning on Thanksgiving Day. I love warming up the kitchen by getting the turkey in the oven and lighting the fireplace. By the time everyone starts to rise and convene around the island the kitchen is filled with the aromas of Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving doesn’t hold the only reservation for kitchen memories though. Any time my family is around and joins me in my favorite room my heart is happy.

My absolute favorite time to be in the kitchen is when my daughter is home from college, has finished visiting friends for the day, and it’s 1:00 am and she’s jonesing for a snack. It’s just the two of us silhouetted by the nite lights and we’re whispering and laughing like little girls while eating something totally trashy.

I don’t get to be in the kitchen very often these days due to a extremely busy schedule, but my favorite time of day to be in the kitchen is in the evenings when I can bake a cake for someone or try a new recipe.

My favorite time AND day are Saturday morning on the rare occasion that my husband doesn’t go to work. He owns his own custom woodworking business and typically 10-12 hour days, 6-7 days a week, meaning we really don’t eat a lot of meals together. So on the occasion that he doesn’t go to work on Saturday morning, I always try to get up and fix him a big breakfast with bacon & pancakes & just enjoy having him home with me for a few minutes over a big pot of coffee.

    February 6, 2013 at 7:53 am

My favorite time in the kitchen of my Bounder R.V., is when I am preparing a new, and most of the time, delicious recipe from a great cook in Southern Living Magazine. My husband is always willing to try something new; it keeps me from getting into the same ole rut of cooking the same things over and over. The cooking puts a great aroma throughout the R.V. Yummy!

Sunday, all day, is my time in the kitchen. 14 hour days, 5 days a week, dosen’t leave time during the week and Saturday is house cleaning day. So Sunday is my time to play in the kitchen and create meals, sauces and stock for the week ahead. The clock on the microwave and stove are difficult to with failing eyesight, so this clock would be GREAT!!

My favorite time of the day to be in my kitchen is dinner time. I enjoy coming home, even after a day of working, and start cooking for my family. We all have busy schedules, but most of the time we sit down together at the kitchen table for a meal. This is our time together as a family to catch up with one another. I would not trade this time together for anything!

My favorite time in the kitchen is baking cookies and breads with my mom. We’ve done this for years, for holidays, to give away to brighten others’ days. We enjoy baking, but the conversation, love and laughs outweigh everything else.

My favorite time of day to be in the kitchen has always been dinner time. My husband and I discovered how much we really love to cook together shortly after we got married. I recently went into the hospital on bed rest since our little boy is trying to make his way into the world several weeks early. I am so looking forward to bringing him home and starting new traditions and creating new memories with him in our families kitchen. Having the three of us fill the space with love and laughter will surely create some of my most rewarding times in the kitchen.

My favorite memory of our time in the kitchen was when my three young children would come home from school knowing that their after school snack would be waiting for them. They never knew what to expect, but their favorite surprise was the after school treasure hunts I would prepare before they arrived home. They knew the hunt was on if they found nothing on the stove but an empty pot with a riddle written on something very small and mysterious. They would get so excited as they tried to unravel the mystery of where they needed to race next! As they solved one riddle after another, they wondered, “would this one lead to the treasure or would it be just another clue?” They raced upstairs, downstairs, into the basement and sometimes even out the back door before they found their long awaited treasure. On their trips down memory lane, they often recount their after school dashes around the house to find their delicious treasures. Someone always says, “you know, it always seemed like our after school snacks tasted so much better after having so much fun finding it at the end of one of our treasure hunts!” They would all agree as they remembered all the fun treasure hunts of their childhood. This story proves that team work in the kitchen, mixed with laughter and love always makes food taste so much better! Grown now, they all enjoy cooking together with their families and each other in kitchens of their own! Truth is, I think I enjoyed these times more than they they did! To me, the other name for a kitchen is “memory maker!”

For me my favorite time to be in the kitchen is when I am cutting or chopping vegetables and meat for soup. For me, soup is the one dish that connects me with a world full of women who are feeding their own families. I truly imagine myself joined with all cultures, past and present, as together we chop whatever we have to make a meal.

My favorite time in the kitchen is when I bake banana bread. The ingredients and the fresh baked bread leave a down home atmosphere throughout the entire house. Reminds me when I was a child, when my mother baked and I woke up to the smell of fresh baked goods.

My favorite time to be in the kitchen is all day on Sundays. That is the day that I like to take my time, and make a big home-made, home -cooked family dinner. No rushing off to work, no evenings being tired after work, just all day to make whatever my family wants. Usually they take turns choosing what I make, that way everyone gets a chance to have what they love. This also makes it more special to that person, because it makes them feel like I have spent all this time, making that entire meal, just for them.

My favorite time of day in the kitchen is in the morning while my grandkids are getting ready for school and everyone is bustling about. The sun streams throughout the kitchen, even in the winter, so it is the most welcoming room in the house. Inevitably one of the grands will come into the kitchen to ask what’s cooking – this begins the talk for the day because that one thing breaks the ice. I love it.
