There is something strangely welcoming about the Texas summer heat. That’s why this season we are heading to one of the coolest little cities in the Lone Star State: Austin With so many great places to hit up, we asked chef Bryce Gilmore of Barley Swine to help us filter through the options, starting with Austin’s famous food trucks. For a street food fix, Bryce tracks down Lulu B’s, a vietnamese bánh mì trailer in the South Lamar neighborhood. Order the avocado sandwich loaded with veggies and a little jalapeño heat. For more of Bryce’s picks including the best place to scope out new musical talent and the best ice cream in town, check out our Summer in the South Austin guide.

Can anyone ever get to Texas enough? I don’t think so. I hope to make it down so that way I can feel the heat in every bite while feeling it on my skin.
