Fashion Designer On the Rise: Lauren Lail

Based in Charleston, SC, Lauren Lail spent years managing a high-end boutique and collecting vintage clothes on the side. Then, she combined her two passions and launched her own capsule collection, Library by Lauren Lail. Inspired by the past, the clothes have a decidedly 1960s vibe. Wearing them makes us feel like we could be modern-day extras on the set of Shag (The Myrtle Beach-based coming of age movie. If you haven’t seen it, you may not be really Southern.). Here are a few of our favorite selections from the line:

The Brooks top, pictured above, could be the staple of our closet this summer. White blouse + scalloped button front + breezy shape = lots of use. In fact, we might be guilty of wearing the buttons down the back too…

What’s better than a summer skirt? Only one that doubles as a work of art. Laura collaborated with Charleston artist, Way Way Allen to design the pattern on the Waites skirt, pictured above.

And on the rare summer occasion that we’d like to appear more buttoned up, we’ll try the tailored Willa Dress, pictured above — belted with a vintage, of course.

Let us know what other Southern designers we should stock up on for this Summer!
