Break out your best concert attire and get ready to belt the lyrics of “Don’t Stop Believin’.” In two days time, music lovers will be descending upon Atlanta for the annual Music Midtown festival at Piedmont Park. The popular event, taking place on Friday and Saturday Sept 20-21, is returning for its third year with a ramped up lineup featuring the ubiquitous hit band, Journey, as its headliner.

This year, fans will be able to wander between three stages to see 22 of the hottest musical acts including Southern rockers North Mississippi Allstars and Atlanta’s own natives, Drivin’ N Cryin’ and The Black Lips. We’ll also be keeping an eye out for the host of other bands featured in this year’s impressive lineup, which includes performances from Imagine Dragons, Tegan and Sara, 2 Chainz, Mowgli’s, Capital Cities, Cake, and Red Hot Chili Peppers among others.

While you’re there, don’t miss the brigade of food trucks and fare from Jalapeno, Ibiza Bites, Publik Draft House, Bhojanic, and Bomb Squad Pizza. Beverage stations will be scattered throughout the park for those looking for cold suds to recharge their batteries. If you need to take a break from the fray, browse the local merchandise at the Artist Market or pay a visit to the ferris wheel.

If you don’t have time to cover all the ground, let us do it for you. We’ll be keeping tabs on all the major acts with photos and video via Instagram @southernlivingmag, using #mm2013.
