The fabled bourbon, Pappy Van Winkle, is finally available for the masses… sort of. Get your hands on some Pappy property with the launch of their line of dry goods, Pappy & Co., October 19. Men’s and women’s T-shirts feature the company’s slogan, “always fine bourbon,” and rocks glass sets, koozies and shatterproof (as they should be) “Pappy Hour” cups are also up for grabs. In collaboration with Smathers and Branson, the line also offers a six-ounce Pappy flask. The stainless steel vessel is wrapped in their signature needlepoint, bearing the face of Pappy himself, and trimmed in full-grain leather. What bourbon aficionado wouldn’t revel at the chance to have some Pappy that fits perfectly in their back pocket? Keep a watch for future expansion, as there are plans in place for additional lines of luxury barware and home goods.
You’re invited (from 3 p.m.-7 p.m.) to saddle up and celebrate at Foxhollow Farm in Crestwood, Kentucky for a launch party that is sure to go off just as smoothly as Pappy tastes going down. Nosh on farm-to-table bites from Bluegrass Brewing Company, with all of the beef, pork and produce coming from the ground you’ll stand on at Foxhollow Farm. Drink in the “wheated” taste that characterizes Pappy with handcrafted cocktails from local caterer Wiltshire Pantry, and an event-specific brew from BBC. All is set to the tune of the Relic Bluegrass Band, a Louisville-based four-some fiddling out the root of bluegrass with a non-traditional edge.
Local vendors will be setting up their wares for purchase—think Pappy Bourbon Balls from Sugar Mamas Bakeshop. Take home some of the first pieces of the Pappy & Co. collection with a 20% coupon offered to all attendees.
If you really want to get your hands on some Pappy, splurge on a $100 VIP ticket for a special tasting session of 10-year, 12-year and 20-year Pappy.
