Problem: a kitchen that’s not quite large enough for the almost ubiquitous eat-at island with a bevy of bar stools pulled up. Solution: a metal-and-wood work table that adds extra prep and storage space without clogging up the room’s traffic flow. Choose one with casters like the one above* and you can roll it out as a serving station, too. Antique versions carry a hefty price tag, but you don’t have to pay up to get the look.
