Napoleonville, Louisiana native Whitney Bolotte Lee sent us this vintage pic of her mother Deborah and sister Adrienne for this week’s Throwback Thursday. Here are a few things to modernize Deborah’s throwback look and help you get or give holiday pretty.

Who: Deborah Edwards Bolotte, with her daughter Adrienne Bolotte Thornton

Where: Baton Rouge, Louisiana

When: 1976

Get The Look:

  1.  Black & White Animal Accent—Fur and haircalf work best in small doses. Try it a classic color palette like this season’s favorite, black and white, on a collar or bag. We love this haircalf fold-over clutch by Claire Vivier, (, $210).
  2. Sparkling Studs—Classic studs with a little sparkle are not only perfect for everyday, but can be the finishing touch on a party look as well. The Aster Earring by Elizabeth Cole could pass for a priceless heirloom, but can be purchased for under $100 (, $88).
  3. Monogramed Beauty Kit—The Minimergency Kit (, $24) which comes standard with an “OMG” gold monogram and brightly colored bag is playful yet seriously useful. With over 52 essentials ranging from clear nail polish to earring backs, this kit will ensure that you’re prepared for any beauty crisis.
  4. Lovely Lip ShineJouer Puttin’ on the Glitz is a collection of the brand’s three best-selling lip glosses all wrapped up in gold confetti-covered pouch—perfect for the holiday season, (, $25).
