Every summer Southerners flock to Atlanta for the gut-wrenching coasters at Six Flags Over Georgia.

This month Six Flags adds the multimillion dollar Hurricane Harbor—the largest expansion in park history.

Here are our picks for coolest aquatic attractions at the park.

Calypso Bay
Anchoring the new destination is the 38,000-square-foot wave pool that gives landlocked Atlanta a chilly respite. The park’s advanced technology will turn 800,000 gallons of water into four-foot waves. Surf’s up!

Tsunami Surge
Riders plunge down a five-story drop in the dark before shooting out to slide around in a 40-foot-wide pool shaped like a bowl. There’s only one way out: a hole in the center that yields a zero-gravity fall.

Paradise Island
Tire out the youngsters at Paradise Island, a tropical-inspired playground with slides, sprinklers, and tunnels. They’ll love the interactive features, including a 1,160-gallon bucket that drenches those lucky enough to catch its tipping point.
