Leave it to a Georgia girl to bring the charm to a glamorous New York event. The Met Gala, one of the most elite parties of the NYC fashion world, turns out the most elaborate and one-of-a-kind dresses of any red carpet event. And while New York social scene is miles away from us down here in the South, it’s still fun to ogle the dresses.
But what’s even better are these charming iteration of the gowns drawn up by Atlanta native Katie Rodgers of Paper Fashion. From Sarah Jessica Parker’s signed Oscar de La Renta gown to Emmy Rossum’s Carolina Herrera floral number, Katie managed to make the ethereal looks even more other-wordly.

What the artist says: “I love a classic ball gown, and that’s exactly what this year was all about. Old Hollywood or Gone With the Wind-esque gowns always stick out to me the most. Giant, billowing gowns also make for dramatic silhouettes, which are such fun to sketch. My favorites were Blake Lively’s Gucci, Karolina Kurkova’s Marchesa gown, SJP’s Oscar piece, and Taylor Swift’s gown.”
