Off for a day to Tappahannock, VA on the Rappahannock River tomorrow with friends. Must take along the cute Maltese, Brady so he can scamper in the yard.
Now, for food, we’ll have some tuna salad sandwiches made with Greek yogurt, a dab of mayo, crunchy celery and onions, and some sweet pickle relish. Those will be served on a hearty pumpernickel bread with sliced tomatoes on the top. Healthy sandwiches so we can indulge in my favorite side of sweet potato chips. For a finishing touch I’ve cut up pineapple, which is oh so sweet and will add mango chunks and strawberries for a refreshing fruit salad. Just maybe I’ll have to whip up some real whipped cream. Refreshing water to drink Then for later in the afternoon, as it’s always 5 o’clock somewhere, some Pinot Grigio wine as we gaze at the water and watch the river flow to the Chesapeake Bay. Life is good and the river is better. Happy Memorial Day to all.

Some fried chicken, potato salad, and watermelon, of course. Along with the usuals, however, I’m putting some lemonade and vodka in small ziptop bags in the freezer the night before. I poke a straw through them the next day and have an adult version of a Capri Sun. I can’t wait!

We are planning a graduation BBQ pool party this weekend. We will have several coolers; one with an assortment of drinks, another one with all the fixing and sides and a third one with a variety of small individual deserts. The individual containers make it easier to compartmentalize all the items, stack them in the cooler for easy access. It keep all items cool and away from flies and bugs. Not to mentioned it make packing a breeze and clean up as easy as 1-2-3!!!!

Best picnic is an assortment of tastes and colors. Small rubbermaid containers with red cherry tomatoes, grilled veggies, olives and more. Medium rubbermaid containers with the different burgers (chicken, hamburger, and bean garden). Large rubbermaid containers with fresh green spinach mixed with strawberries and a nice cut up colorful watermelon. Everything fits nicely in the large rubbermaid cooler with drinks. All easy to make the day before and take to the picnic.
