The Nashville-dwelling Taylor Swift announced a new record this afternoon via a Yahoo! News / ABC News live stream. The record, named 1989 for the year she was born, will hit shelves in October. The cover? A Polaroid of Taylor with handwritten “T.S. 1989” underneath.
There will also be a deluxe version, complete with 13 Polaroid photos, handpicked by Taylor herself.
During the stream, Taylor discussed a feeling of “endless possibility” at the end of the eighties, which she tried to inject into the record. After discussing the new record, she took questions from various social media.
Taylor dropped a few gems–among them, the quote “All I think about are metaphors and cats.”–but fans were most excited when she debuted her first single “Shake It Off.”
