We Want You To Put a Bow Tie On It

August 25, 2014 | By | Comments (9)

When it comes to bow ties, Southerners do it best. Not only do we have a bevy of creative and talented bow tie designers in the South, we are also shameless in our support and adoration for the dapper accessory. That’s why we are gearing up for National Bow Tie Day (which happens to be Thursday, August 28) with our first-ever #putabowtieonit challenge.

We’ve teamed up with two of our favorite men’s and bow tie outfitters, Southern Proper and Onward Reserve, to help show the world why everything looks better with a bow tie—from puppies and kiddos to cake stands. Share your most creative uses for bow ties now through Wednesday, August 27, for a chance to be featured on our site and social media accounts. And check back with us on Thursday for a special bow tie giveaway.

Here, some inspiration from our editors and their Southern Proper ties.

You missed presenting the great Randy Hanauer bows, made just over the NC border in South Carolina. He’s the fellow who pioneered the resurgence of the beloved bow throughout the South and far afield almost two decades ago, along with elegant pocket squares.
