Few communities are as quaint as Rosemary Beach, Florida. Swimsuit-clad kids pedal beach cruisers down streets, and darling boutiques pave the way from Scenic Highway 30A to the Gulf, where the hamlet’s white-sand beaches are dotted with sand castles and bright umbrellas. The Pearl, a sleek luxury escape (and the town’s only full-service hotel), adds to the magic.

The Look & Feel
The Pearl gets major credit for pulling off its unique beach cottage-meets-Miami vibe. The minimalist marble lobby is punctuated with cheerful, swirly glass sculptures, and the guest rooms are simple, serene, and outfitted with gadgets that’ll impress any tech geek. If you fancy the artwork, pick up your favorite print across the street at Tommy Crow Studios.

The Service
The front-desk attendants are efficient, and if they see a line forming they’ll start passing flutes of Champagne. The bartenders and servers are friendly and on the ball, but a few were overly chatty.

The Sleeping Quarters
Our favorite part of the well-appointed room was the view. In the morning, open the balcony doors and sip coffee in bed while enjoying the scenery and a nice salty breeze. The all-marble bathrooms are big and bright, but the shower was relatively small given the room’s abundant space.

The Food & Drink
Havana Beach, the hotel’s main bar and restaurant, buzzes at happy hour. The bar shares a room with the restaurant, so if you want a quiet evening, request a table on the veranda. Chef Michael Guerra’s menu, rooted in local ingredients, is eclectic. You’ll find tastes of Cuba (crisp fried plantains), France (an out-of-this-world French onion soup), and Gulf seafood, of course (Gulf Fish ‘N Chips, worth the $24 price tag). Sol Luna, the rooftop lounge that overlooks the pretty pool area, serves pizzas and small plates and is a better bet if you’re looking for a more casual, less-expensive meal.

The Extras
Sing along with a piano player at Havana Beach every Thursday through Sunday. Hit the beach with ease and use The Pearl’s complimentary towels, beach chairs, and umbrellas, all provided by a doting attendant with bottles of water and fresh towels at the ready. Relax in the hotel’s spa with an ocean-inspired Pearl Paradise Massage, which relies on silky smooth nautilus shells to melt away stress.
