Decorating Resolution 24: Try a Little Chinoiserie

As part of the 3 C’s of Southern Decorating (including checks and chippendale), chinoiserie continues to make a big comeback in modern Southern decor.

Take a cue from Meg Braff’s design (pictured above) and choose a colorful chinoiserie wallpaper to set the tone for a happy guest room. Keep the look fresh with “updated fabrics and wallpapers that tweak these classic patterns with bolder prints and brighter, more cheerful colors,” Meg says in our January 2015 issue.

Balance out a bright wallcovering with softer shades of the same color in your accessories, like this headboard and lumbar pillow.

    There are so many good ones but my all time favorite is a Time to Kill. I never fail to cry when I read the book or see the movie, It is a story that makes your heart ache!!
