One Room Challenge

Do you have a design project that you have been wanting to tackle for a while but couldn’t find the motivation? I did! The dining room at White Oaks Ranch was dark and gloomy and I have been wanting to revamp it but I just couldn’t make myself start. I’m an expert procrastinator when I want to be!

That is where the One Room Challenge came in! When Linda from Calling it Home Blog asked me to participate, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I wanted to make the room that hosted so many of our family’s most meaningful celebrations worthy of the special occasions that take place in it.

The best part of the challenge is that I only had six weeks to make it all come together! It forced me to make decisions and be, as my brother says, a “get’er-done-girl.” I went out on a limb with a wild ombre wallpaper that reminded me of our beautiful Texas sunsets. I also upcycled several things that we already had! I was down to the wire but I got most of the work done. I’d love to know what you think!

Please head on over to my blog today to see more of my journey with the One Room Challenge. I share all of my sources and more of my story there and you can also find links to the nineteen other bloggers who participated. I hope it will help you decide to challenge yourself to a room makeover!
