Can’t wait to go… but this house is SOUTH of C’ville, not North. I will get there way before 3:00 after reading all comments. Thanks!

Dear SL, my partner and I have longed searched for the perfect house plan for our house on the Vermillion River near Lafayette, LA (Cajun Country). We love this house plan! We are making a few modifications so that it fits our design plans better. My plea is can SL fly us to view the Idea House and then feature our home when it is completed ???? It would be our dream!!!!!

One question: where does the ticket price (money) go? I would like clarity as to what it is used for. I would assume renting the shuttles/gas? Thanks. I also did not receive a credit card receipt from the ticket salesperson. She just shrugged and said no receipt.

So my day didn’t exactly go as planned. The funeral I attended that morning ran longer than expected which put me getting to Charlottesville at 3:45pm. I thought for sure they won’t kick you out as long as you’re there by 4pm… Just like most stores and restaurants don’t kick you out if you’re a PAYING customer and happened to be there past closing time. Thanks for your understanding Verneoz…

So it’s rude to tell people you are closed for shuttle runs, and hours are posted? What happened to showing up early to put some flexibility in your schedule?

Be sure to arrive by at least 3pm since they LOCK the doors to the house at 4pm. A little more clarity on the website would have been helpful before I drove 2 hours from Maryland to be told the shuttles were done running for the day. Perhaps let people know tickets will only be sold until 3pm… The condescending comments from the ticket saleswoman when I arrived were not appreciated either.

    To the previous posters:

    Phone number listed above.
    Shuttle runs during operating hours.
Tour takes about 45 min to an hour; need to be there by 3pm since shuttle takes some time.
It is a great self guided tour!

Does the shuttle operate every day. Thinking of bringing a group next Wednesday, Aug. 5.

Don’t waste your time. We arrived at 3:40, after driving down from Great Falls, VA and were told that they were closed for the day. NO phone number to call to contact anyone in the “Design House” RUDE.
