Acts of Gratitude: Week 1, Deliver a Pie

August 3, 2015 | By | Comments (1)

For the month of August, Southern Living has teamed up with Tiny Prints to celebrate gratitude, which is defined as the quality of being thankful. As a new school year is about to begin, schedules and life will become hectic, and crazy at times. In all the busyness, we may sometimes forget to say thank you and show gratitude when we should. Each Wednesday in August, we challenge you to reflect on what you are thankful for in your life, and share a small act to pass along gratitude to others in your life.

This week, we challenge you to deliver a pie to deserving neighbors. Maybe they keep an eye on things when you are on vacation, or they are simply great friends to your family. A pie is the perfect treat that can be enjoyed by all members of the family. We recommend a Key Lime-Buttermilk Icebox Pie or Strawberry-Pretzel Icebox Pie, but there are also many other great options. We wouldn’t blame you if you also made one for yourself to enjoy!

Make sure to check back next week for the second act of gratitude!

Have you read Ann Voscamp’s book One Thousand Blessings? It changes your life and heart to be thankful for the small things.
