Depending on whom you ask, the story of Bailey and Douglas’ introduction will vary, as more than one person likes to claim dibs on this love-at-first-sight pairing. The one thing that’s for sure, is that after the couple’s first blind date, they became inseparable. Two and half years later, Douglas took Bailey on the most memorable after-work boat ride and got down on one knee.

“He asked me to go sit at the front of the boat, and before I knew it, he appeared before me, and asked me to marry him,” Bailey says. “Shortly thereafter, a fisherman in a John Boat drove up to us to make sure that he’d seen what he thought he’d just seen!”

The couple exchanged vows in Wilmington, North Carolina at the St. James Parish Episcopal Church, with a lively reception following at the Figure Eight Island Yacht Club. Local photographers of Blueberry Creative documented the couple’s big day. For more photos and information, see our gallery.
