I married a southern boy! He is charming and sweet and he breaks into his southern twang without even realizing it and it is beyond adorable! I think it’s a completely different way of life and I have adapted to it and have really fallen in love with it. The food is amazing! His mother has taught me to cook some of his favorite dishes and they are all rich and everything has sauce on it! Gravy is important…and now I know. I never used to make gravy but now it’s present at almost every meal! I never knew what Old Bay was either but have since learned that we can never run out of it, lol! Oh…and sweet tea!! He loves sweet tea!!
Things seem more relaxed in the south too. I’m a born Yankee (which he loves to throw in my face, lol) and am used to running around and lists and errands and traffic and talking fast, etc. I have slowed down since becoming a southern girl. Weekends are lazy times where we take our little guy for long walks on the beach and out on the boat. We cuddle a lot and I don’t swear (well, not as much) like I used to because it absolutely horrifies him!! Hahaha…if you ever saw his face the first time I lost my temper and went on a F-word rampage!!! You would have thought I killed someone!!!
Anyway, I love my life with my husband and am happy to consider myself a southern girl even if it is by marriage! It’s a completely different way of life and I just love it!! And that southern twang…so sexy!! Thanks so much for the chance…gorgeous pearls!!

Great question as her are many types of southern lifestyles from real farmers to upper crust and all in between.
Yet, there seems to be commonalities that hold true to all and me.
Foremost hospitality and charm..the door is always open, sit a spell, a cake always on the counter, sweet tea and a full stocked bar.
Summer parties, BBQs, fall and winter open house.
Sunday church, faith, family first, love of our country…yet never met a stranger.
The wave when we meet a car, Nascar and college football..especially, the SEC..love Steve Spurrier.
Work hard and play hard too. Dress to the nines for balls and dances..yet have my overalls when in the garden. And Lily Pulitzer when shopping.
Love flowers and gardening, growing tomatoes, fishing..cooking and baking.
Country music and Elvis too. Adam Levine too.
Talk a lot and gossip a bit too.
Have a dog and a pickup
Love cowgirl boots and pumps, pearls and gold. Frilly dresses and leather and lace too.
    Pink..anything pink..but a red lip.
Us . Gals would never leave the house without looking our best. We have a thing about our hair..and spray.
We seem to be of sting constitution, preserve and give 100 percent.
The best people you will ever have the pleasure of knowing or being are southerners.
