Throwing a spectacular tailgate party can be an overwhelming task. There’s games, food, people, and drinks to think about, not to mention all the equipment to make it happen. Well we have multiple coolers stuffed with various good eats. And drinks. The cooler that is depleted first is the cooler of hot corn on the cob bobbing in hot water. We saw this trick last year and it really works great for all large gatherings. Hot sweet crunchy corn at anytime.

I take two coolers tailgating. One with water frozen in milk jugs to keep the cold items cool with getting wet and the other with hot bricks wrapped in foil to keep hot foods warm (you can find the directions online). You can food made with SL tailgating recipes in both!

A little bit of this…and a little bit of that. Usually some great dips from my mom, some Sminoff Ice’s drinks and pop, water and some cookables, like burgers and brats.

Our tailgates begin early so I would start with some pint jars of peaches and cream refrigerator oatmeal, a SL recipe from a while back to enjoy with coffee. Next would be deviled eggs, fried chicken, grilled corn salad all chilled to perfection. We’d pull out some cheese fondu pre made with white wine to put in the small crockpot to accompany cocktails. My cooler is known as a well of good eating on tailgate day and we have grazers from all over campus stop by for a taste!
