If you’ve ever built a house, you understand the intricate detail that goes into making the home exactly the way you want. Our 2015 Southern Living Idea House is no different. We enlisted the best companies in Charlottesville and throughout Virginia to contribute their skill and apply their knowledge to create the smallest details that make the biggest impact.

The stonework found on the house is the product of Josh Deibert and his team at Deibert Masonry. Comprising more than half of the home’s exterior, the stonework brings out the rustic design of the house and plays part to the architecture seen all through Virginia.

The beautiful wood siding, molding, and mantle in the tavern, as well as the wood flooring found throughout the house, is sourced from Heartpine Company – a father and son team based in Charlottesville, VA.

The Venetian plaster and fireplace mantles found in the living room and master bedroom are the product of Paul King, owner, operator and general contractor of Crown Plastering Company. With more than 20 years of hands-on experience, King is an expert plaster, stucco, and stone craftsman.

What a beautiful home such elegance infused into each room! I’ve always found that the details make a room come alive. If you’ll notice the sitting room or living room has a unique twisted wood floor lamp- love it! and those end tables are exquisite. How about that library? It has that unusually crafted round table. I would love to find that for my customers. I also noticed that great ceiling lamp with its wire drum, it definitely fits bethshomewares.com collection.
