High Quality Handbags + Leather Goods

I love meeting women who fearlessly start their own business to really do what they love. This is the story of Elizabeth Seeger who is the founder of Satchel—a Savannah based boutique that designs and creates bags in the back of their Liberty Street shop. As a graduate of Savannah Art and Design (SCAD), she started Satchel in October of 2006. Today, shoppers around the world are opting for high quality and locally made bags as opposed to brands that mass produce their bags and then ship them around the world. At Satchel you can find handbags, clutches, travel bags and an assortment of leather goods—such as cuffs, bracelets, and even beverage coozies. They also love working with individuals to customize orders.

Their retail space houses a boutique, complete with all of their bags on display. Satchel’s work space is visible to the public, including their sewing machines, material scraps, thread and scissors.

You can check out their online lookbook to get an idea of the different styles that they offer. I tend to gravitate more towards classic accessories, like their Heidi Bucket Bag in Camel ($275) or their Medium Austin Tote in Light Grey ($179), which are pictured below. All of their designs are gorgeous and made locally! I have their python clutch ($308) which I love to wear with neutrals. You can see how I styled it over on Lavin Label

Follow Satchel on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook or give them a call to place an order!

Perfect timing! I’m going to Savannah this spring and I’ll stop by their store. I’m in need of a new leather bag.

Don’t need no handbags to do gardening.
