One of my favorite places to visit in Virginia is the beautiful and historic city of Charlottesville. I’m fortunate to live only an hour’s drive from Richmond and the closer you get to Charlottesville, the prettier the scenery. The mountains are so picturesque and seeing the turning of the leaves in the fall is majestic. With over twenty-five wineries, breweries and cideries, and home to University of Virginia, there’s truly a little something for everyone visiting. If you’re deciding on the location for a wedding, Charlottesville is the perfect backdrop for a destination wedding. I am delighted to share three of my favorite Charlottesville venues – each nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Keswick Hall is a gorgeous 48-room mansion situated on 600 acres. It’s the perfect estate for a destination wedding or for a relaxing weekend getaway. Keswick Hall was built in 1912 and in 1948 the property was converted into a country club. In the early1990’s the property was restored to become the world-class hotel that it is today. I’ve had the pleasure of being a guest at Keswick and the hotel and staff members are truly wonderful. Read more about Keswick Hall here.
One of the most popular venues is Pippin Hill Farm and Vineyards, owned by the husband and wife team, Lynn Easton and Dean Andrews. Pippin Hill is a gorgeous venue providing a blend of rustic charm and modern elegance. The Granary is my favorite space on the property. This barn-inspired event space is 3,600 square feet and can accommodate up to 200 guests. It is the perfect space for a wedding reception, rehearsal dinner or private event. Pippin Hill Farm and Vineyards was voted by Bride’s magazine as one of the Top 50 Most Romantic Wedding Venues in the U.S. Check out more details on Pippin Hill Farm and Vineyards here.
Another favorite is Veritas Vineyard and Winery. I have had the pleasure of designing the flowers for a wedding at Veritas and can personally share that this venue is absolutely beautiful. Hosting your wedding or event at Veritas will surely be a memorable event and you can make your special day as intimate or full scale as you desire. Read more about Veritas Vineyard and Winery here.
