9 Tailgate Giveaway Finale: Flaunt Your Flair with Draper James

Raise your pom poms, Southerners – it’s time for football in the South! Give us a Saturday,  the SEC, and a tall glass of sweet tea (or bourbon) and you can find us at the tailgate, cheering on our favorite teams. In honor of this fall tradition, we’re going to be giving away items every Wednesday that’ll take your tailgate party-throwin’ to the next level.

To end the season with a bang, we’ve partnered with the adorably Southern Draper James. Even Reese Witherspoon knows how important it is to rock your team spirit on game day. The starlet created a clothing and accessory line to help spread fashionable charm through Southern style. The line’s tailgating apparel is absolute perfection. From mittens to sweaters, Draper James offers cozy pieces that are every bit as classy as their creator.

Sport some major team spirit in Draper James decked-out game day gear. Perfect for a colder evening game (or, the Iron Bowl!), choose a pair of soft merino wool Go Y’all Mittens with text-touch fingertips, a cozy Go Y’all scarf in your team’s color, and a preppy Tailgate Sweater & Pin combo. Talk about a touchdown-worthy look.

What’s your must-have style accessory on game day? Comment below for a chance to win. Official rules here.

My must have style accessory on game day would be my good luck December birthstone ring that’s been passed down from my Great Nana to my Nana Billie then to me. My great grandfather gave it to his bride over 100 years ago and me and my two grandmothers have the same birthday month so I was the lucky granddaughter to receive it when they both died and I feel like it’s brought my team a win many times when I’ve been attending the UT games!! Were expecting our first granddaughter in December so I’ll be able to pass it on to her someday so she can hopefully bring good luck to her team! I also have a UT scarf that my mother wore to cold weather football games when she was in college that I wear to the games and everyone always wants to know where I got my vintage scarf…HaHa

Every game day I wear my lucky bulldogs pin with a southern, classy red and black outfit. The bulldog pin was passed down from my mother, and her mother passed it down to her. It’s a family heirloom now. Go Dawgs.

My best friend and I have the same prized accessory – our hospitality. We carefully plan our outfits each week to show our sense of community and to show that being part of the Cardinal family is important to us. We order flowers for our tailgate in team colors and put out a huge spread for our family and friends to eat so everyone can enjoy being together and feel like they’re part of the group. And we invite visitors from opposing teams to join us for a bourbon before the games to share our Louisville spirit and heritage. Our southern hospitality is an accessory handed down from our Louisville moms that we’ll never give up!

My must-have style accessory on game day would be a combo of a comfy scarf (that could also cover my head if necessary, if the cap wasn’t enough when the chill picked up) and gloves – all, of course in the bright, bold colors of my team. Go Team!

My must-have style accessory for game day are my grandmother’s sunglasses. They didn’t start out as sunglasses. My grandmother wore the same pair of reading glasses all her life. They were mint green in color, with cat eye shaped frames and rhinestone accents. I always admired them. I remember asking to wear them when I was little and she would always oblige, but only for a minute or so. She would say that she didn’t want me to strain my eyes. After she passed, I had her reading glasses converted to prescription sunglasses for myself. Remarkably, the frames help up well and needed only minor repair. Every time I wear them, I think of her. She was quite the football fan, so it is only proper that they are my game day accessory of choice.

Silver Gamecock earrings and a silver bracelet with a Gamecock charm and, of course, a pearl are my go-to style accessories. New stadium rules also dictate an additional style accessory: a clear tote monogrammed in garnet. Go Gamecocks!

My must have game day accessory would probably be a good scarf and/or beanie! Being from WV, we were used to really cold games, but we bundled up and enjoyed them anyways!
