Southern Charm Tip #297: Know How to Fold a Dinner Napkin on the Fly

If you’re looking for a creative party idea, try a quick and easy napkin fold to give your table the perfect finishing touch.
The bow tie-inspired napkin fold above is stylish enough for a formal dinner, but so easy you could use it every night of the week. Follow the four easy steps below, or watch one of our editors demonstrate it in a video.
1. Lay napkin flat. Fold opposite sides inward to meet in the center.
2. Fold at the center to make a narrower rectangle.
3. Fold short ends back to meet in the center.
4. Cinch in the middle with a ribbon. Secure in back with ¾-inch double-sided fabric tape.
