It would be great if some of the many exceptional restaurants listed in this SL ‘Best of The South’ competition could join us..And, Southern Living could be here to cover the event. 30 teams last year trying to get to 60 in 2013…Saturday October the 12. We would love to have your help in growing this event!

My sons restaurant, Hubba Hubba Smokehouse, is by far the very best! He has been cooking since he was very young and it has paid off! His BBQ is terrific and so is he!!!!

Hubba Bubba Barbeque in the little historic village of Flat Rock is within walking distance of the national historic landmark, Carl Sandburg’s Home, Connemara. Hubba Bubba is also within walking distance of the North Carolina State Theater, Flat Rock Playhouse. Hubba Bubba has great ribs and wonderful barbecue with indoor and outdoor seating. We love the unique shops on Rainbow Row, which it is a part of, especially the Wrinkled Egg which has an amazing assortment of gifts and interesting art pieces. Hubba Bubba is a great destination for eating yummy ribs and barbecue while spending the day and evening visiting the special attractions of Flat Rock. Before leaving town folks should stop at Sky Top Orchard and pick a bushel of fresh apples right off the tree or pick up jams and jellies to carry home.
