Looking to refresh your bedroom for summertime? Try the newest look from our Southern Living bedding collection, The St. Charles. We took inspiration from one of our favorite Southern cities, New Orleans and their signature fleur-de-lis to create this over-scaled, ivory and seafoam blue, floral pattern. In addition to pillow shams and a comforter, coordinating window treatments are also available so that you can fully envelop yourself and your bedroom in this serene palette.

We are giving away one St. Charles bedding set along with coordinating (not matching!) bedskirt and Euro shams. In order to win tell us in the comments below, how do you update your bedding for summer? The giveaway ends June 30. Click here for official rules.

Hubby and I move the area rug into another area of the room slightly askew and change out the throw pillows to a more summery hue (an indulgence I love!) Cool sheets soothe our souls for the wonderful summer… a time of renewal for this Kindergarten teacher!

All the heavy quilts go into storage and the lightweight down blankets and matisse quilts come out. Brighter, lighter colours. Its also a time to bring in fresh flowers and bright pillows to bring the sunshine into the room.

Everything lightens up for the Spring/Summer seasons. Flowery quilts come out with underquilts in solid colors. Light pillows and throw rugs. The same goes for my great room and all the baths.Light floor rugs replace the dark prints, pillows are flowery, shells, stripes. My wall art also changes to my Georgia O’Keefe prints. Summer in Florida…..airy and fresh.

We kickoff the heavy quilted comforter–and summer–by trading it for a pearl cotton throw. Print shams are swapped for classic white linen “His Side-Her Side” coverings. Egyptian cotton sheets of the highest threadcount insure cool, comfortable sheep counting.

    Hey SL,

We swap out our flannel sheets for our breathable 100% cotton ones. We love colors and patterns, so we pull out our classic and comfortable coverlets to top our comfy sheets. Of course the weather is always changing where we live, so we keep a light comforter at the end of bed as an option. Thanks for the opportunity and ideas!

Keep on Southern Living Comfortably to all!
