It’s Berry Cobbler Season!

The first hot days of summer bring a bounty of cobbler-sweet berries to local farm stands, but if you really want to fill your heart with joy, grab a bucket and find a u-pick farm close to where you live or vacation. One of our favorites is Petals From the Past, a family owned nursery just off I-65 in Jemison, Alabama. The beauty of the trellised blackberries alone will take your breath away, but they also offer antique roses and heirloom shrubs, plus hard to find perennials and herbs.

Saturday, June 8th, is their annual Black and Blue Berry Festival, and both will be ripe for the picking (it’ll take about 10 minutes to fill a quart bucket – just the right amount for a fresh baked pie or a dozen Mini Berry Cobblers).
