On the second day of Christmas, my true love (or Southern Living!) gave to me, a holiday made cheerful. When decorating your tree, layer burlap ribbon with a shiny, textured ribbon before adding ornaments to create a grandiose appeal to the overall space. Our holiday collection ornaments are mercury glass, gold, bronze and silver and include earth-inspired shapes like pine-cones and small, delicate birds.

For more holiday decor ideas and tips, enter to win the 2015 Southern Living for Dillard’s Christmas Cookbook PLUS a $50 Dillard’s gift card to purchase your favorites from our holiday collection.

My favorite ornaments is the first one my husband bought me when we first got married. It is a sand dollar with the nativity scene on it.

I have a wooden ornament that spells, “love”, except the “e” is missing. My nephew made when he was 5 years old. He passed away in 2013 at the age of 17. I love you, Matthew ❤️

My favorite ornaments are the ones I’ve had since I was a kid because I love still getting to see them year after year!

We had a Christmas wedding so my favorite ornament is a beautiful red blown glass ornament that we bought on our honeymoon. For almost 28 years has held a special spot in my china cabinet during the time it is not adorning the tree.

The small angel given to our family by my husband’s parents for our first tree.. The youngest child places the angel atop the tree each year. Our sweet 3 year old granddaughter will be placing our little angel this year

My favorite Christmas tree ornaments are the ones that my we bought for each of my two boys when they were born. These ornaments signify the two happiest days of my life for display on my favorite holiday of the year.

My favorites are ones that belonged to our parents, ones our children made when they were younger, and several that I made throughout the years.

Since we are a military family for several generations, many of our Christmas ornaments have been lost or broken through all of the moves, but I have a few glass balls that my parents purchased in the 1940’s when they were first married. I am always very careful where I place them on the tree!
