Back in 2011, college sweethearts-turned-musical duo Jon and Valerie Guerra recorded a Christmas song cycle as a way to earn some extra money for gifts. As the holiday songwriting became a tradition, Jon and Valerie’s holiday folksy-meets-soulful sound was picked up by Sony’s Descendent Records, and their It’s Almost Christmas album debuted in November 2015. This season, the duo was handpicked by Amy Grant and Vince Gill to open a series of Christmas concerts at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee.

We are thrilled to premiere the video of Jon and Valerie’s smooth holiday mash-up of The Way You Look Tonight and I’ll Be Home For Christmas.

“These two classic songs are some of our favorites, so we mashed them up to make a super-Christmas medley we love.  This video was shot at the end of a long day of shooting, and we were tired and cold. We had already flubbed a couple of takes right at the beginning and felt like we weren’t quite capturing the love and longing that these songs are meant to capture. So, we incentivized ourselves. We said if we nailed it this next take, we would award ourselves with our favorite warm, frothy drinks. Needless to say, the next take was full of love and longing (albeit for the warm, frothy drinks) and we nailed it. Whatever it takes, right?”
