On Sunday, country singer Jana Kramer was the latest musical act to grace the stage for our Southern Living Biscuits & Jam concert series, presented by AT&T U-Verse. Before her performance at our Nashville Idea House, the songstress answered a jam-packed minute-worth of questions that covered everything from her favorite karaoke song to how she prefers her barbecue.
We met up with string-happy Old Crow Medicine Show at the Lyric Theatre in Birmingham, Alabama, for the latest in our Biscuits & Jam series. Built in 1914 for shows on the vaudeville circuit, this historic theatre has hosted Will Rogers, Mae West, and the Marx Brothers.
Last night Jason Isbell, a native of the Shoals area in north Alabama, won big at the Americana Honors & Awards in Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, taking home the award for Song of the Year for “Alabama Pines.” “I want to thank the terrible hotels of north Florida for inspiring me to write this,” he joked.
We met up with country artist Jerrod Niemann at the Neshoba County Fair in Philadelphia, Mississippi, for a Southern Living Biscuits & Jam session. Here, he performs “Shinin’ On Me” off Free the Music, his new album out October 2.
